It all started when...

Ryan Whitmer has been fascinated by the electronic dance music movement since 2006 when he first attended a Daft Punk concert in Seattle, WA. This sparked an interest in Ryan to see live visuals being synced with music on stage. Although the grand scale of production value of the show was far out of reach for a newcomer like Ryan, he got his hands dirty anyway he could. This was the inspiration for him to start RAW Designs, a one man operated design company focused on creating event flyers for similar dance music events. Ryan then saw a new position open up in the live music business. This was called a VJ (Video Jockey), who would control video content live on stage in sync with music. Instead of purchasing stock video online, Ryan wanted to create his own visuals to perform and sell. This is what he is focused on now as a 3D animator and VFX artist.

Self-taught in Photoshop, After Effects and Cinema 4D, Ryan has been making an impression in the VJ community. With three published works on a worldwide network for VJ’s, Resolume.com, his video loops has been seen at some of the largest festivals in the world such as Tomorrowland (Belgium), Freaknight (Seattle), and Marquee Nightclub (Las Vegas). This worldwide recognition has brought Ryan high value clients who want customized visuals for their own tours. He is always pushing himself to represent artist's music in the visual form.

Ryan has gained a variety of friendships and close clients who collaborate all over the world. There are many different future aspirations Ryan can take in his professional career. Ryan’s goals are to develop clients visual content self identifying to the artist. There is no doubt that Ryan is a machine who won’t stop if things are not satisfying to him. He has high consideration when it comes to producing the best quality work and intends to keep it that way for a very long time.
